WELDING

GENERAL INFORMATION

At Ravi Green, the welding processes employed for fabrication activities are SMAW, SAW, GMAW, GTAW and FCAW. All Welding is done using qualified & approved welding procedures by skilled welders; qualified for each position, welding process and different materials. Where required, welding procedures and credentials of qualified welders are shared with the client for approval before commencement of welding activities:

The cornerstone of our welding performance is our initiative of training and qualifying new welders.

WE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING SERVICES:

  • Qualification & certification of welders and welding procedures to different welding processes (SMAW, SAW, MIG, TIG and FCAW) in various positions on all types of ferrous materials for Structural works, Pressure piping, and Production of boilers & pressure vessels.
  • Supply of Qualified & certified welders and welding operators to different clients.
  • Supply of Pipe and plate coupons with appropriate backing and bevels.
  • We supply procedures, coupons, certifications and training if needed to qualify welders to AWS, API, ASME and other specs.

WELDER AND WELDING OPERATOR PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATIONS (WPQ and WOPQ)

- B.S., AWS, TRD & ASME IX

Testing/Examination = bend test, radiograph, etch and beak test (Quantity depends upon applicable code or standard).

We determine and enhances the ability of welders to deposit sound welds per the standardized requirements. Welding courses currently available are listed below along with a brief course outline. Customized welding training is possible for the industry as needed. Scheduled start dates depend on enrolment. All courses include training materials, protective equipment, weld material, consumables and the use of all equipment in the Welding Institute.

We offer several options for conducting training programs at a reasonable cost. All of our training programs and testing services are entirely flexible in length and frequency of sessions.

CUSTOMIZED WELDER TRAINING PROGRAMS

We develop custom training and upgrading programs which deliver the significant advantages to your operations because they focus on defined objectives to match your facility's specific scope of work. Selection of Welding processes, positions and qualification testing depends on practical application and on-the-job requirements. Training can be held at your site using your equipment or at our training facility. Examples of specialized welder training programs that we have designed and conducted for our clients include:

Pipe Welding with Certification Exam - One month (192 Hours)

SMAW/TIG
This class will prepare an experienced Arc Welder for a 6G position w.r.t. ASME Section IX. Participants will learn to prepare and weld various sizes of pipe correctly. Using 2", 4" and 6" O.D. schedule 40 pipes with E7018/ER 70 S filler metal. The root pass will be prepared by TIG welding.

Gas Metal and Gas Tungsten Arc Aluminium Welding - One month (192 Hours)

GMAW/GTAW(C.S.)
This course will prepare those with previous welding experience to use both MIG and TIG processes to become successful production welders using C.S. of varying grades and thickness and the most common weld types. This course will include (192) hours of instruction provided during multiple classes with differing objectives.

Gas Metal Arc Welding -One month (192 Hours)

GMAW
This is an introductory course specifically designed for an individual that has an interest in the welding field. The student will be educated in the field of understanding the concept of essential welding characteristics with an understanding of welding symbols and other specific modern techniques. The student on completion of this course will understand how to safely manipulate and weld with a MIG welding machine along with the proper operations of a Plasma Torch.

Skill Improvement Welding - One month (192 Hours)

During this training, participants can boost their welding skill in several areas or concentrate on improving in one particular process or position. Skills areas to choose from include: Stick, MIG, TIG, Aluminium and multiple position welding.

+ Maintenance and repair welding.
+ Tube welding with SMAW/TIG.
+ Specialty welding of thin metals.
+ Advanced techniques— pipe or plate.
+ Stainless steel welding.
+ Welding Essentials for a welder training.

In all Welding/Training mentioned above, a welder is educated and trained for:

+ Safety & Health of Welders.
+ Striking and Controlling the Arc.
+ The Welder's Role in Quality Control.
+ Electrode or Wire Selection.
+ Power Sources.
+ Stringer/weave Beads.
+ Distortion Control.
+ Welding positions in Pipe & Plate.
+ Welding Symbols.
+ Welding defects.
+ Preparation for the test samples.
+ Basic welding process technique.
+ Welding unlike materials.
+ Welding Processes.
